Decluttering my closet is still a work in progress. After reducing my wardrobe by more than half with the KonMari decluttering method (blog post here), I feel much better about my options and my personal style, and being able to see everything I own in one place has helped me determine even more items to get ride of. Since the big purge, I've made several smaller purges, tried my hand at selling clothes on eBay, and even tossed out a few individual items when I wasn't specifically looking for things to cull.
I thought it might be nice to give you a look at where I am right now. My drawers are all KonMari folded and well organized, and my shoes can fit into a single vintage locker, but I still own a lot of clothes. I'm discovering how many clothes I really want to own as I go.
I'm also going to experiment more with capsule wardrobes to get a better sense of what I really need and what I can let go of. I don't want my full wardrobe to get down to the size of a capsule necessarily, but I think choosing a capsule for a specified amount of time can be a helpful process, especially since I've already experienced the other extreme.
After trying the 30x30 Capsule Wardrobe Challenge in June (blog posts here and here), I've decided I'm ready to try Project 333 for the fall season starting on October 1st, so make sure to check back if you want to see how that goes.
