I've decided to do a new segment called "Color Theory" where I discuss one of my favorite colors to wear and then show some examples of me wearing it.
Color is something I think about a lot and I'm sure I'm not alone. Some people love it, some people are afraid of it. I can fall into either camp at any given time. It's hard sometimes to know which colors look best on you, but it's never hard to distinguish which colors you are drawn to over and over again.
A big one for me is NAVY.
Every bit as neutral as black, navy is a color I wear probably more than any other single shade (even black itself). While I have a few Little Black Dresses, of course, I also have several "Little Navy Dresses," and they serve me well. I love both black and navy, but I think that navy can go anywhere black can go (even a funeral), so, if you don't care for black so much, but like navy, rest assured you're covered. Because it's not quite as stark as black, I personally feel that navy is even more versatile that black itself.
But my love for navy extends beyond the practical and into fantasy . . .
There's just something about it. It's a bit prep school, it's a bit sailor. It's so French and yet so all American. Plus, it's the most classic shade of denim. I would be lost without several pairs of dark blue jeans.
Sometimes a picture can be worth a thousand words, so, without further ado, here is how much I love navy . . .
Oh, and might I suggest this soundtrack for browsing through the photos.
